In October, Synsam Group announced that its eyewear production would move from Asia to Sweden. This is one part of the company’s long-term sustainability agenda. Synsam’s factory and innovation centre will be established in Östersund, creating approximately 200 new jobs.
On 4 December, Synsam Group will open the Nordic region’s first recycling and outlet store for spectacles and sunglasses. The store will be located in Tornby shopping centre, just outside Linköping, and the investment is part of Synsam Group’s sustainability agenda for a more circular and sustainable business model.
Synsam Group is now launching the concept and brand Ai Eyewear in all of the Group’s stores in the Nordic region. Ai Eyewear is a Swedish brand founded in 2018, which has developed a strong presence with three physical stores and a growing online business.
Synsam works actively for more sustainable production and consumption. After frames made of recycled plastic, the next sustainable collection is now being launched: Circular Collection. As the name implies, the material is part of a circular flow where old spectacles are recycled into new ones.
